Urgent Job Opportunity: Engineer / Project Engineer at SkillForce
Position Overview: SkillForce is urgently seeking experienced Engineers / Project Engineers with over 5 years of experience in heavy construction. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on diverse projects including highways, bridges, deep foundations, water plants, wastewater plants, industrial electrical, marine, and industrial facilities. Heavy civil experience is highly preferred. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong personal initiative, excellent planning and problem-solving skills, effective interpersonal abilities, and a steadfast commitment to safety.
Competitive Wages: $105,000-$110,000 in Newtown, PA
Responsibilities:
- Immediate Impact: Review, coordinate, submit, and track all project submittals.
- Construction Design: Perform construction design including form/pour drawings, major pick plans, and layout of pipe/equipment/conduit.
- Project Planning: Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, and other topographical and geographical data to plan projects.
- Cost & Performance Management: Urgently manage project cost and performance with field personnel to track, control, and deliver successful results.
- Coordination & Tracking: Coordinate, submit, and track all project submittals.
- Cost Reporting: Generate job cost reports for all projects involved.
- Site Inspection: Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety standards.
- Claims Management: Track and submit claims.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 5 years of experience in the heavy civil industry.
- Ability to meet fast-paced, changing schedules and priorities.
- Keen awareness of industry recommended practices, OSHA requirements, equipment, and QA/QC.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Local travel (within 1-2 hours).
Additional Skills & Experience:
- OSHA 10-Hour Certification, a plus.
- Marine construction experience, a plus.
