What are the responsibilities and job description for the County Administrator position at Skills Development Services?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· To maintain confidentiality in all appropriate functions.
· To provide effective direction and guidance to team leaders.
· To provide effective Quality Assurance coordinated with Agency Quality Assurance Coordinator.
· To conduct regular staff/team meetings, keeping staffs well informed of changes in policies and procedures, and follow communications with memo or email.
· To attend Circle of Support Meetings as needed (Residential) or invited.
· To be responsible (delegate) for operation, maintenance, cleanliness of buildings and vehicles within the county.
· To authorize purchase requisitions for up to $100.00 for county programs. Always consult with Director of Finance for purchases over $100.00. Consult with Executive Director for repairs/purchases for vehicles over $250.00.
· To make budget requests for local funds, attend budget hearings, and follow up on the budget requests.
· To make a minimum of once a month visits to each home.
· To monitor personal assistants within the homes of individuals supported.
· To be responsible (in conjunction with the Personal Funds Manager) for individuals’ finances following Personal Finance Guidelines. [Provides necessary oversight of AA to ensure completion of specific responsibilities]
· To interview and screen all applicants according to policies and procedures in conjunction with Team Leader.
· To assist with hiring, coaching, and evaluating all staff, within the county agency.
· To assign work to employees, recognizing individual strengths that maximize program effectiveness.
· To authorize leave requests, time sheets and verify correctness, and to deliver payroll as scheduled.
· To conduct new employee training/orientation (handbook, coaching, mentoring, assignments, specific needs, etc.)
· To be responsible for assisting agency training coordinator with new employee training and employee recertification in a timely manner.
· To show all visitors the programs as appropriate.
· To act as a liaison with parents, community, and other professional agencies.
· To attend board meetings.
· To delegate specifics to teams and other staffs as needed.
· To perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

· A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Social Work, Special Education, or a closely related field
· Good driving record; current Class D license with F endorsement
· The County Administrator shall be self-directed, capable of supervising and working closely with other staff members.
· Knowledge of computer usage essential.
· It is strongly preferred that the individual filling the position reside in the county where employed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
