Job Description:
Medical Assistant in Dermatology
As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing high quality back office support to ensure efficient operation of our medical office. You will support provider, patients, managers, and peers through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with compassion, accountability, exceptional quality and in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Warmly greet and engage with patients
- Interview patients and document basic medical history
- Organize and prepare setups for exams, procedures, and cosmetic services
- Prepare patients prior to procedures and educate patients with post-procedure instructions
- Update, scan and file medical records and reports
- Transcribe exam, procedure, and prescription notes
- Handle incoming/outgoing messages, memos, reports, faxes, and forms
- Handle high volume phone calls, clinic volume and MA tasks/duties
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms, devices, and medical instruments
- Required to work set scheduled shifts that may include early start (7:00 am), late end (7:00 pm)
- May be asked to provide shift coverage for peers
- Must comply with and adhere to Covid Safety Protocols
Skills:
- Proven working experience as a medical assistant
- Experience in dermatology is highly preferred but not required
- Knowledge of medical office EHR management systems
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Accountability and a team player
- Proficiency in MS Suite and patient management software
- Degree, certification, or equivalent paid work experience as a Medical Assistant
