High School Travel Baseball Supervisor

Individuals employed as Skokie Park District Travel Baseball Supervisors are expected to generally supervise athletics leagues and programs, while observing officials' management of games and maintaining an accurate record of contests.  These tasks are generally conducted in the absence of, and with the authority of, the Athletics Manager.

Applicants responsible for setting up athletic ball fields in the District and Supervise/score keep games accordingly.  The duties include setting up bases, pitching mounds, assist coaches, umpires and score keep baseball/softball games at designated fields with scoreboards.  Responsible individual also should maintain good judgement and relate with umpire at field relative to weather and field conditions for a safe environment for players and spectators.  This staff member also reports scores to immediate Supervisor and any other related reports involving accidents, incidents at the field.

Performs other duties as assigned.  Adheres to and actively enforces the safety responsibilities and safety procedures as outlined in the District's Safety Manual and overall risk management program. Incorporates the District's core values of commitment, service, integrity, openness, innovation and environmental stewardship in all work performed.

Qualifications

Must be a mature, energetic, responsible individual at least 16 years of age with strong communication, organizational and leadership skills. Prefer experience as a participant in a team sport, or demonstrated a sufficient knowledge in the operation of an athletic competition required; supervisory experience in any capacity preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is preferred.

Salary : $16 - $20
