Location: Savage Mills, Maryland (In-Person)
Type: Non-Exempt, Hourly
Compensation: $23.70 - $34.37/hour (Skookum's compensation strategy is to position new employees between the minimum and midpoint of this range, depending on qualifications and experience.)
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm (flexible start and end times depending on scheduling needs)
As an IT Support Specialist, you'll utilize a proprietary Help Desk Service Request system inclusive of a knowledgebase and IT asset inventory to fully support and resolve all issues pertinent to our corporate technology users of desktops, laptops, mobile devices, operating systems, software and applications, email, phone and security systems, printing, and network connectivity. This position is part of a team that are the front line of support and must perform the above with the utmost professionalism and customer support
Diagnose and resolve Level 1 and some Level 2 technical hardware and software issues in person, via phone, and or electronically.
Manage, maintain, and master the use of corporate Help Desk Service Request software.
Manage and maintain a comprehensive user support knowledge base and asset tracking system.
As assigned, manage vendor relationships that best support Skookum with a balance of value and effectiveness.
Prioritize tasks to best serve our users and optimize management of available time and resources.
Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention, act as incident manager if required.
Recognize Level 2 issues and redirect problems to the appropriate resource.
Research issues using all available information resources.
Thorough documentation of all incidents through resolution.
Develop, prepare and present Help Desk activity reports.
Perform hardware basic repair, upgrade and maintenance of computers, mobile devices and peripherals.
Installation, configuration and maintenance of stand-alone and networked imaging devices.
Setup, configuration and maintenance of Windows 7, Windows 10, and Apple Macintosh operating systems in a corporate network environment. Setup, configuration and maintenance of Microsoft Office products.
Installation of software updates, upgrades, and service patches.
Organization, management and storage of IT assets.
Install, manage and maintain software licensing.
Troubleshoot basic wired, wireless, cellular and remote network connectivity issues.
Resolve basic phone system, cellphone and cellular devices issues.
Interact with vendor and 3rd party support providers to resolve issues as required.
Fundamental user training relative to basic computer and software use.
Remain current with applicable technologies, processes and system information.
Consistently deliver exceptional customer service.
Must be able to drive where necessary in support of our users.
Work within Active Directory to add and/or edit user accounts. Assist users with Microsoft SharePoint 2013 site maintenance and creation. Check security reports and resolve any critical anti-virus issues daily. Approve desktop computer updates using WSUS and ensure updates are applied promptly.

Summary of desired skills and experience for the Skookum IT Support Specialist:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science required
0-3 years of experience in Information Technology highly desired
Combination of education and experience will be considered
Current Comptia A Certification required
A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum's insurance.
Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
