Position Overview:
The Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in identifying and securing new business opportunities for solar projects. This mid-level position requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of the renewable energy sector, capable of driving growth and expanding our project portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pipeline Origination: Identify and develop new renewable energy project opportunities through market research, networking, and strategic partnerships.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including landowners, corporate clients/off-takers, and government agencies.
- Proposal Development: Prepare and present compelling proposals and presentations to potential clients and partners.
- Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities to inform business development strategies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, finance, and legal, to ensure the successful development and execution of projects.
- Negotiation: Lead negotiations for project agreements, including power purchase agreements (PPAs), land leases, and joint ventures.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of business development activities and provide regular updates to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business development or equivalent within the renewable energy sector.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of renewable energy project development processes and market dynamics.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
