Quality Manager β Aerospace Contract Manufacturing
Location: Burbank, Ca
Reports To: Director of Quality
About the Role:
We are seeking a Quality Manager to lead quality assurance, compliance, and continuous improvement in our aerospace manufacturing operations. This role is critical in ensuring our products meet AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA regulations, and customer expectations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in electrical components, quality systems, root cause analysis, supplier quality, and continuous improvement methodologies. They must be a hands-on leader who fosters a culture of quality, accountability, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance & Compliance; Continuous Improvement & Problem-Solving; Supplier & Customer Quality Management; Leadership & Team Development
- Maintain and oversee the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and FAA regulations.
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to aerospace industry standards.
- Develop and enforce inspection, testing, and documentation protocols to ensure product quality.
- Implement Lean, Six Sigma, 8D, FMEA, and Root Cause Analysis to drive quality improvements.
- Lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) initiatives to eliminate defects and improve processes.
- Develop and execute quality improvement roadmaps to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure incoming materials meet quality standards.
- Manage customer quality concerns, investigations, and resolution processes.
- Monitor and analyze key quality metrics (PPM, First Pass Yield, Scrap & Rework rates, etc.).
- Lead and mentor a quality team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Train employees on quality best practices, standards, and compliance requirements.
- Drive engagement in cross-functional teams to improve production quality and efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5 years of quality management experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and FAA regulations.
- Hands-on experience with Lean, Six Sigma, CAPA, and advanced quality tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills (8D, Root Cause, FMEA, etc.).
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field (CQE, CQA, or Six Sigma Certification preferred).
