I. Job Description
The Assistant Critical Facilities Manager (ACFM) reports directly to the Critical Facilities Manager
CFM) and supports the CFM by managing data center operations and security for the assigned
site or campus. The ACFM is accountable for aspects of safety, risk mitigation, physical
infrastructure as well as hiring and scheduling personnel to support the overall maintenance,
operations and security programs. This role helps set the standard of operating, by displaying a
commitment to safety and reliability within the data center. The ACFM leads by example to drive for
consistent improvements in operational excellence of the data center by adhering to company
standards, meeting client requirements and ensuring industry best practices are incorporated into
all processes and procedures.
II. Responsibilities
- Assist CFM with day-to-day customer relationship(s) and ensure proper planning, notification,
reporting and prompt resolution of any issues to meet all Service Level Agreement commitments
Foster a positive team environment through inclusion, empowerment, development, and opencommunication
Implement, and maintain facility policies, procedures and organizational structure within theboundaries established by management and corporate policy while aligning with federal, state,
and local operating regulations or laws
Coordinate maintenance agreements, maintenance procedures, testing procedures, andinspections, as well as internal and external audit support
Detailed technical knowledge for various systems such as : electrical distribution,emergency / standby power, HVAC, fire, and monitoring and control
Class A building and critical data center maintenance, repairs, and emergency service experienceProvide 100% uptime of all critical systems including mechanical, life safety, access control,surveillance, monitoring, and control systems utilizing in-house and vendor support
Provide emergency response, response management and incident reporting plansEnsure the pro-active delivery of facilities support, capital projects, maintenance planning, andbusiness continuity / disaster recovery planning
Manage within the operational and capital budgetsUse comparative analysis between mechanical and controls systems performance and keyperformance indicators to monitor the effectiveness of operational programs through
benchmarking and the utilization of best practices
Manage electrical and mechanical corrective issues within the data center to ensure resolutionwhile minimizing risk
Perform quality control reviews of processes and completed projects to ensure accuracy, clarity,and continual improvement
Audit CMMS work-orders, equipment history records, and schedules to help maintain 100%accuracy in documentation
Insist on strict adherence to change control activitiesDevelop and administer a training program to further the professional growth of the facilitiesdepartment and ensure a safe working environment for all departments
Ensure all vendors and customers are abiding by critical facility work rules
Be available onsite during business hours and on call at all other timesKeep facility clean and free of debris, including overseeing property management such asjanitorial services and landscaping

High school diploma or equivalent, requiredBachelor's Degree, prior military or technical school training, preferred5-10 years of experience in mission critical environments, requiredElectrical or mechanical licensure (HVAC), preferredV. Working Conditions
Work in both indoor and outdoor environments with moderate to loud noise levelsMay work in controlled temperature conditions, cold and hot temperatures, or inclement weatherconditions
Exposure to mild chemicals, mechanical and electrical hazardsOccasional nights and weekends to ensure optimal critical facility environmentModerate physical labor is required. May lift 45 pounds or more regularly, use fingers and hands,work on varying heights and on ladders, and walk job sites.
