Experienced Maintenance Technician
2nd Shift 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
4 - 10 hour Days per week (rotating)
Some overtime required
Job Summary:
As a Maintenance Technician you are responsible for performing routine inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs on building systems and equipment, including troubleshooting issues, responding to emergency repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety guidelines to maintain the functionality and lifespan of the facilities assets. This position often requires a strong mechanical aptitude as well as problem solving skills.
Support Daily Business Operations
Maintenance Technicians will collaborate as a supportive partner with the leaders and employees of each shift to ensure machine safety, machine functionality, and machine up time.
Job Duties:
- Perform maintenance repairs in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic breakdowns under minimal guidance.
- Reference equipment manuals and other technical literature.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area as a part of completing assigned tasks.
- Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop/storeroom.
- Troubleshoot and perform maintenance duties such as mechanical and electrical repairs.
- Respond to work requests and complete work orders that have been entered into the CMMS system.
- Measure wear, vibration, noise levels, and calibration of all equipment.
- Complete preventative maintenance activities with a focus on inspection, lubrication, and cleaning.
- Support emergency breakdown situations.
- Identify and report damaged machinery in need of repair.
- Identify product safety concerns as they relate to the BRCGS program.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
Qualifications:
- High School Education is required. Post High School Certifications/Education are preferred.
- 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing facility.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge and practical experience in electrical, PLC’s, cutting/welding, hydraulics, pneumatics and conveyor systems.
- Understanding of automated industrial equipment including motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, and communication devices.
- Willing to learn about our outside services and train to repair machines outside of our facility.
- The ability to work in a team environment as well as the ability to work flexible hours.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, twist, and squat.
- Must be able to lift 70 lbs.
