Summer Tennis Coach (Beginner–Intermediate, Ages 6–12)
Skyhawks Sports Academy – Summer 2025
Skyhawks Sports Academy is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Tennis Coach to join our summer team! If you're passionate about teaching kids, love being outdoors, and want to help young athletes fall in love with tennis, we’d love to hear from you.
As a Skyhawks Tennis Coach, you’ll lead beginner to intermediate athletes (ages 6–12), using USTA’s Red Ball and Orange Ball curriculum to introduce fundamentals in a fun, supportive, and encouraging environment. Under the guidance of our leadership team, you’ll bring energy, creativity, and a love for the game to every session—while modeling teamwork, determination, and good sportsmanship.
Responsibilities:
- Implement age-appropriate tennis activities using USTA’s Red Ball and Orange Ball curriculum
- Teach tennis fundamentals: forehand, backhand, volley, serve, and footwork
- Create a fun, inclusive, and safe atmosphere for all participants
- Encourage teamwork, respect, and effort over competition
- Communicate positively with campers, parents, and fellow coaches
- Attend team meetings and required training sessions
- Support and coach additional Skyhawks sports programs during weeks when tennis is not offered
Requirements:
- Passion for tennis and working with children ages 6–12
- Experience coaching youth tennis preferred
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Must be able to pass a background check
Position Details:
- Seasonal Position: May 21 – August 1, 2025
- Location: Various parks and facilities across the New Orleans area
- Compensation: Competitive hourly pay in a fun, active, and supportive environment
