primary functions:
Promote and service Credit Union products and services to small business owners throughout the community providing deposit and lending opportunities for area business. Take a leadership role in the overall growth of business services. Build a referral network and establish relationships in the community to drive additional business accounts. Independently build and manage a portfolio of small business accounts. Responsible for retention of the portfolio and generate new product relationships through cross-selling business banking products and services.

- Exhibit a thorough knowledge of the credit union’s products and services.
- Able to generate leads, contact and pursue potential accounts for Business Services growth.
- Business development responsibilities include calling on existing business accounts, contacting others in a position to refer business to the credit union, attending networking events and cold calls.
- Maintain established market presence and build network of outside referral sources for new business. Monitor business and economic developments to promote and develop new business leads, with active involvement in community, charity, organizations, and civic clubs.
- Conduct independent analysis of potential and existing businesses to include gathering financial and general business information from prospects and existing accounts, generate new product relationships from new and existing business accounts, including but not limited to deposit accounts, Business Loans, Business Lines of Credit, Commercial Real Estate Loans, and various other banking products and services. Oversee an on-going business development plan with the support of the branch personnel by taking qualified leads through the sales process.
- Act as a liaison with Business CUSO during the underwriting process to assure a timely and seamless process for the business owner.
- Gather, review, submit and present complete loan packages to include evaluation of business and commercial real estate financial statements, tax returns, personal financial statements, and credit bureau information. Analysis of cash flow, ratios, and projections is expected along with active participation with the lending team in other due diligence activities.
- Communicate loan decision, terms and conditions to members in a professional and courteous manner. Provide signed documents to Business Specialist to ensure a complete loan file.
- Review the loan documentation for completeness, and setup and supervise the loan closing with the member and arrange for the appropriate loan disbursements.
- Manage time effectively to meet/exceed established sales goals. Prepare activity reports weekly/monthly.
- Work directly with the Business Specialist to assist in obtaining appropriate insurance policies, financials for annual reviews, etc.
- Assure the highest standards for customer satisfaction through the timely resolution of service issues, complaints and problems, as well as loan applications.
- Contribute to efficient credit union operations by performing other related duties as assigned.
- Comply with all federal regulations, credit union policies and procedures, including Bank Secrecy and the USA Patriot Act.
- Perform job duties in accordance with the Credit Union’s values, mission and vision.

minimum requirements:
- College degree or equivalent educational and work experience
- Minimum of 3 years credit union/banking experience
- Strong interpersonal, leadership and sales skills
- A demonstrable record in establishing new business and in setting and achieving annual goals.
- Present a positive and professional image through courteous and effective verbal and written communications.
- Strong PC skills including Word and Excel applications.
