What are the responsibilities and job description for the Flight Coordinator position at Skylease Cargo?
Flight Coordinator:
- Serves as the liaison between flight followers, schedulers, maintenance control, quality control, scheduling department, outside stations, ramp supervisors, cargo handling companies and upper management.
- Responsible to inform all parties of any irregularity or potential delays concerning any company commercial flight, providing cost-effective solutions and recovery plans to enhance overall company services and profitability.
- Will evaluate and recommend changes in the daily schedule for cost savings, providing timely itineraries.
- Responsible to monitor, record and update ETD’s, tail swap, route changes, flight number changes, flight times, revenue payload, fuel burns and uplift, log pages, delay codes and remarks on the company’s Airline Information Management System (AIMS).
- Responsible to contact US customs and agriculture on ETA of all inbound aircraft where required.
- Responsible to request Landing Permits, where required, for all our commercial flights.
- Responsible for monitoring validity of all Operating permits.
- Responsible to request fuel quotes for potential charters or diversions and use the most cost-effective price.
- Responsible to maintain and update the Fuel Database with the latest flight information and fuel Vendors.
- Responsible to coordinate with the livestock handling companies as to time of arrival at the airport for a timely departure and providing the animal handler’s names to the flight followers on a timely manner for EAPIS processing.
- Responsible for requesting parking spots for all inbound flights and informing Airport Authorities and System Operations of such assignment.
- Responsible to coordinate relocation of all aircraft, to and from different parking spots at Miami airport, as needed by the company, coordinating with MDAD.
- Responsible to coordinate ground transportation of crew members to aircrafts and customs at base station.
- Responsible for requesting and monitoring catering orders for all outbound commercial flights and backhaul charters.
- Responsible for the flow of information between Operations and Customers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma; degree in aviation, logistics or related field preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast- paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
