Materials Manager Job Description
SkyOne Aerospace is seeking a self-motivated Materials Manager to join our repair shop team. This posistion is responsible for overseeing inventory/purchasing tasks to ensure parts and supplies are readily available to aid in the repairing of aircraft propeller components.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
· Analyze inventory levels to determine when stock needs to be ordered
· Forecast inventory needs based on past usage history and supply chain performance to ensure sufficient stock is maintained
· Order stock and supplies by either creating Purchase Orders or submitting orders through online stores
· Make purchasing decisions based on pricing, delivery, market standards, and certifications as required
· Research and audit potential new vendors in coordination with the Quality Manager
· Prepare quotes/bids for Work Orders, Repair Orders, and Sales Orders with vendors
· Facilitate, develope, and maintain relationships with vendors
· Coach, assist, and supervise 'Inventory Controller' with issues arising from receiving to inventory discrepancies as needed
· Facilitate scheduled cycle counts with the Inventory Controller. Perform reconciliations in coordination with the Accounting Manager
· Investigate discrepancies with inventory counts to determine root cause
· Work closely with all departments to ensure a smooth flow through all operations
· Maintain traceability of inventory through software programs and excel spreadsheets
· Identify suspected unapproved parts and coordinate with Quality Manager to resolve
· Assist Sales with incoming RFQ’s as needed
· May assist with Shipping/Receiving department as needed
Requirements and Qualifications:
· Knowledge of warehousing and inventory management
· Knowledge of basic Purchasing practices is a plus
· Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone and electronically
· Highschool diploma or equivalent required
· Verbal and written proficiency in the English language
· Basic Computer skills- must possess the ability to operate standard office equipment and pertinent software applications. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
· Mathematics - Ability to add subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, percent, and ratios.
· Schedule Adhearance: meeting deadlines, keeping with schedules, setting priorities, and attention to detail
· Must have the physical ability to: lift, carry, push, pull; some climbing and balancing, frequent stooping, and standing.
· Must be able to understand and comply with SkyOne Aerospace Safety Policy and Accident Prevention Policy.
Compensation $23 - $25 DOE - Full Time Monday through Friday 7am to 3:30pm
