Materials Manager
Tate Technology Inc. is a growing Contract Electronics Manufacturing company that has been established and locally owned in Spokane for over 30 years. Our current Manager is retiring after 32 years of service. We are seeking a proactive Materials Manager to take a hands-on approach in managing the procurement, storage, inventory management, and distribution of materials. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in supply chain operations, inventory control, shipping and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. This role requires active involvement in daily operations to ensure seamless material flow and support production schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage inventory control and ensure accurate tracking within the ERP system.
- Supervise and mentor team members to enhance operational efficiency and performance.
- Manage inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking, aligning with production schedules.
- Collaborate with production teams to forecast material needs and align supply chain activities.
- Manage ERP software to record deliveries, stock levels and ensure Ontime Shipments of finished goods.
- Monitor and Implement KPI’s to measure ongoing performance
- Organize and maintain a clean warehouse.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety protocols, and environmental standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in business, logistics, systems engineering, supply chain management or similar. (Relevant experience can substitute for education requirement)
- Proven experience in materials management, preferably in electronics manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain processes, inventory control, and procurement strategies.
- Proficiency in inventory management software, ERP systems and shipping software.
- Excellent communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to optimize operations.
- Product and inventory management certification a plus
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee will frequently be required to walk, sit, stand, bend, and twist. They will frequently lift up to 30 pounds, occasionally lift up 50 pounds, and rarely lift up to 70 pounds. This position also requires occasional climbing ladders, crouching, kneeling, repetitive motion, grasping, and reaching above shoulder level.
