The Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for supporting the DON in the entire operation of nursing services. The essential duties include, but are not limited to:
· assist development and maintenance of nursing service objectives and standard of nursing practice. Ensuring that the facility’s residents care policies and procedures and the policies and procedures developed by the pharmaceutical services committee and the infection control committee which relate to nursing services are implemented.
· Assisting in Coordination of all personnel within the nursing department, and with other departments.
· Regular inspections of the facility for compliance with Federal, State, and Local standards and regulations.
· Assist in the Establishment of policies, procedures, and job descriptions for nursing service personnel: interpretation of these to personnel and directing the administration of each nursing unit, based on the above-mentioned objectives, standard, policies and procedures. Assures patients of a comfortable, clean, orderly and safe environment. Evaluates nursing service needs and coordinates nursing service with other departments.
· Assists the DON in Directing planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care services for all residents on a twenty-four (24) hour, seven (7) day a week basis.
· Is on call for emergencies that supervisory personnel cannot handle.
· Keeps current in the field of nursing through attendance at meetings, conferences, conventions and workshops; reading current literature pertaining to all aspects of patient care and restoration rehabilitation; and maintains membership in professional organizations if possible.
· Reports to the DON and administration and attendance at department head meetings.
· Subject to frequent interruptions, called upon frequently to problems concerning residents and facility.
Educational Requirements: Candidate must be a graduate of an approved school of nursing, and have current licensure registration in the state of Nebraska. Training or experience in supervisory capacity in a hospital or extended care facility, including geriatric and/or psychiatric nursing preferred.
The competitive pay range for this position is $ 70,000.00 to $90,000.00. Consideration will be made commensurate with experience.
