Finance Controller

About Skyview:

Skyview is a fast-growing, luxury outdoor living company with operations in Detroit and a new location planned for the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) market in Q2 2025. As we scale our business, we are seeking a hands-on Controller to manage our financial operations, oversee bookkeeping, and establish financial processes that will support our expansion as we continue to add locations in the years to come.

Position Overview:

This Controller position is a unique opportunity for a financial professional who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves and handling both high-level financial strategy and day-to-day bookkeeping. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial functions, managing QuickBooks, handling receipt allocation, collections, accounts payable/receivable, and vendor payments, while also implementing financial controls and providing leadership in financial planning.

This role will report directly to the President of Skyview, and work closely with other key stakeholders across Skyview’s corporate and field operations.

Key Responsibilities:Day-to-Day Financial & Bookkeeping Operations

• Manage QuickBooks for all company financial transactions.
• Oversee receipt allocation, ensuring proper classification of expenses.
• Handle collections, ensuring outstanding invoices are followed up on in a timely manner.
• Process vendor payments and manage accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts on a regular basis.
• Ensure accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping, handling daily entries and financial records.

Financial Management & Reporting

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for leadership review.
• Manage cash flow and budgeting, ensuring financial stability and planning for growth.
• Develop financial reports and dashboards to track KPIs and company performance.
• Assist in job costing and project financial tracking, ensuring profitability and cost control.

Internal Controls & Compliance

• Implement financial processes and controls to improve efficiency and mitigate risk.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant tax regulations at federal, state, and local levels.
• Prepare for and coordinate external audits as needed.

Strategic Planning & Growth Support

• Support financial forecasting and strategic planning as Skyview expands to new markets.
• Analyze financial data to provide insights that drive business decisions.
• Recommend and implement financial software solutions to improve efficiency as the company scales.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA preferred but not required.
• 5 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial management.
• Strong QuickBooks experience is required.
• Experience handling receipt allocation, collections, AP/AR, and vendor payments.
• Excellent financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management skills.
• Proven ability to implement financial controls and improve processes.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial reporting software.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
