JOB SUMMARY:
The Loan Processor is responsible for efficiently processing direct auto loans, personal loans, and credit card applications. This role involves reviewing and verifying loan applications, collecting and validating required documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and maintaining clear communication with borrowers and third-party vendors. The Loan Processor plays a key role in ensuring timely and accurate loan approvals while providing excellent customer service throughout the loan application process.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ø Reviewing and Verifying Loan Applications: Review loan applications to ensure all required information is provided, accurate, and complete. Verify applicants’ details, such as income, employment, and creditworthiness.
Ø Collecting Supporting Documentation: Collect and verify necessary documents from applicants, including proof of income, identification, credit reports, and other financial information, ensuring that all documents meet company and regulatory standards.
Ø Entering Data into Loan Systems: Input accurate information into loan processing systems, updating records and maintaining organized files for each loan application.
Ø Identifying Cross-Selling Opportunities: Actively assess applicant needs and identify opportunities to cross-sell additional products (e.g., personal loans, auto loans, home equity loans, or cards) based on the borrower’s financial profile and objectives.
Ø Ensuring Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all loan applications comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including checking for adherence to consumer protection laws, lending guidelines, and internal policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ø High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or some college coursework preferred.
Ø Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial services, with a focus on loans and customer service.
Ø In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to credit unions.
Ø Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ø High level of integrity and ethical standards.
