Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Ground Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for educating students in private pilot, instrument, commercial, multi-engine, and CFI/CFII/MEI ground school. This role requires a passion for teaching and the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively. The Ground Instructor will play a crucial role in curriculum consistency and classroom management, ensuring that students receive a comprehensive education that prepares them for the flight and examination portions of their training experience.
Responsibilities
- Implement engaging curriculums that meet FAA Part 141 and/or 61 educational standards and requirements.
- Educate students on aircraft maintenance, airframe systems, and federal aviation regulations.
- Facilitate classroom discussions and hands-on training sessions to enhance student learning experiences.
- Assess student performance through examinations, projects, and practical evaluations.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students, fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
- Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve instructional methods and materials.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in aviation education.
Skills
- Hold FAA Advanced Ground Instruction (AGI) and Instrument Ground Instruction (IGI) certificates
- Strong ability to educate and communicate complex information clearly to students.
- Proficiency in aircraft maintenance principles and practices.
- Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds, including both military and civilian students.
- Familiarity with federal aviation regulations and their application in an educational context.
- Previous experience working with students in an instructional setting is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage classroom dynamics effectively.

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week
