What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer position at SkyWater Search Partners?
SkyWater Search Partners has been retained by a US-based agriculture, energy and industrial products company to find its next General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer. This person will sit in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The GC will be responsible for leading strategic and tactical legal initiatives, providing senior management with effective advice on those strategies and their implementation, managing the legal function, and overseeing the work of outside counsel. This key leadership position serves as a member of the executive team and reports to the CEO.
The GC will be tasked with legal, compliance, and corporate secretary duties for the Company, so a strong background in those areas is required. This person will also serve as a legal advisor on all major business transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures. Other responsibilities include :
- Handle and manage litigation as necessary
- Advise the CEO and Board on corporate governance matters
- Participate in the definition and development of corporate policies, procedures and programs
- Advise on legal aspects of the Company’s financing; collaborates with CFO and his / her team to assess and advise on current and future legal entity structures
- Manage the Compliance and Trade Execution function
- Develop, enhance, and oversee the Company’s compliance framework and activities
