Responsibilities
- Production Management: Oversee daily operations of the production floor, ensuring the timely and efficient manufacture of products. Ensure that production targets, budgets, and schedules are met without compromising quality.
- Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and develop production staff, including supervisors and production workers. Foster a positive work environment that emphasizes teamwork, safety, and productivity.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve production processes for greater efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Implement Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve throughput.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure a strong safety culture by enforcing safety regulations, conducting regular safety audits, and addressing any safety concerns. Maintain compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
- Quality Control: Work closely with the quality control team to ensure that all products meet the company’s high-quality standards. Address any quality issues in a timely manner.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels and manage raw material supplies to avoid shortages and ensure smooth production flow.
- Cost Control: Develop and manage the operations budget, focusing on cost reduction and efficiency improvements without sacrificing quality.
- Maintenance Coordination: Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure the proper upkeep and repair of equipment and machinery.
- Reporting & Documentation: Prepare regular reports on production performance, safety metrics, and other key performance indicators for senior management. Maintain proper documentation of production processes and compliance records.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including engineering, sales, and customer service, to ensure alignment with overall company goals and customer needs.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and develop a diverse team.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with team members and cross-functional departments.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office, ERP systems, and production planning software. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and techniques.
- Safety & Compliance: Knowledge of safety regulations and experience implementing safety programs. Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
