Primary Job Duties:- Serve as SkyWest Airlines Designated Employer Representative (DER)
- Serve as primary People Department representative for employee and workplace safety initiatives
- Frequent interface with Safety Department towards policy development and risk management
- Drive partnerships with SkyWest departments to identify hazards and risk controls relative to the safety employees and their work environment(s)
- Oversight of SkyWest’s drug and alcohol testing programs
- Manage Drug & Alcohol Team members
- Support Program Lead-Drug Testing to ensure 100% compliant and efficient drug testing administration
- Responsible for Substance Abuse Prevention Program(s)
- Review incidents (non-OJI) that impacted employee safety. Partner with stakeholders to identify risk controls
- Proactively identify where hazards may occur relative to employee safety.
- Assist with implementing protocol relative to building security and workplace safety
- Assist with training and communication on related initiatives.
- Able to work in office environment
- Able to navigate computer and phone systems
- Ability to travel to visit operational locations (airport station, hangar, training facilities) and attend work related conferences
Preferred Skills:
- Possess strong oral/written communication and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to meet training deadlines and requirements
- Knowledge and understanding of HR functions and legal obligations
- Experience in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, SharePoint)
- Working knowledge of SkyWest policies
- Experience working in regulatory environment. (FAA, DHS, OSHA, etc.)
- Able to provide clarity and de-escalate high emotion issues
- Basic understanding of Safety Management System
- Experience with risk assessment and mitigation
- This position is based at SkyWest Headquarters in St. George, UT with no remote opportunities available
