The City of Pearland, TX is seeking to hire a Part-Time Summer Camp Coordinator to lead and improve aspects of the day-to-day operations of our Parks and Recreation department.
The Part-Time Summer Camp Coordinator earns a competitive salary of $15.82 - $17.12/hour, based on qualifications. We also offer access to the city's recreation fitness center and employee assistance program.
Training Dates: May 19-22 from 4pm-8pm | May 27-30 from 8am-5pm
Camp Dates: June 2 - August 8 Monday - Friday from 7:30am-5:30pm.

Job Summary
The purpose of this class within the organization is to program and supervise the Day Camp Program for the Parks and Recreation Department. This class designs and delivers program activities that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the camper's age and abilities. This class also assists in the management of the overall camp operation at the direction of the Youth Development Coordinator.
This class works under close to general supervision according to set procedures but determines how or when to complete tasks.

Job Summary

Essential Functions
- Acts as a role model to campers and staff in your attitude and behavior.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and willingness to work with children in a camp atmosphere.
- Exercises effective communication with parents and staff.
- Ensures lesson plans and daily schedules are prepared and implemented that meet camp outcomes and the abilities of the campers.
- Supervises and evaluates Camp Counselors to develop and implements all facets of camp program activities.
- Coordinates and assists staff training with Youth Development Coordinator.
- Ensures that camp staff and campers know and follow safety and educational procedures during camp programs.
- Assists in the management and care of the physical facilities and equipment in all program areas.
- Provides and distributes information to parents regarding programs, activities, schedules, and events.
- Develops and implement schedules and records for all areas of camp programming.
- Demonstrates and educates staff on the proper methods of equipment storage and cleaning to safeguard facilities and equipment.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent supplemented by specialized courses/training equivalent to completion of one year of college.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in dealing with children ages 6-14 in a non-parental, but supervisory role such as a teacher, counselor, or camp director preferred.
- Some experience working with children ages 6-14, required.
- Valid, Class "C" Texas Driver's License.
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR, or the ability to obtain within two (2) months of hire date.
Salary : $16 - $17
