Overview
We are seeking a Shop Assistant to join our team at our musical instrument repair shop. The ideal candidate is well-organized, flexible, a problem solver, and willing to assist wherever needed.
This is a seasonal, summer position that would be a perfect fit for summer break from the school year as that is 'peak season' for our brass cleaning and repair department. May or June start through August or September, subject to availability and need, is when this temporary position would be.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently learning and performing aspects of the repair department as needed. Primary tasks include the following:
- Disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of brass and woodwind instruments.
- Minor instrument service work such as polishing brass mouthpieces, replacing tenon and neck corks on woodwind instruments.
- Data entry of company-, customer-, and school-owned instrument repairs, polishing of said instruments and cleaning of cases.
- Cleaning and upkeep of shop and store
- Other tasks, including assisting customers in the store or over the phone, as needed.
- Observing health and safety procedures.
- Take feedback, instruction, and direction from repair technicians.
Qualifications
- Driver's license.
- Good physical strength and hand-eye coordination required.
- Good time management, critical, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- A growth mindset and passion for learning.-
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively
- Strong mechanical knowledge to assist in assembly tasks is a plus
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
