We are looking to add an experienced and reliable Business Development Manager to our team in Baton Rouge. The Business Development Manager of a staffing office is responsible for driving growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities and maintaining operational and financial performance. The Business Development Manager has full sales, profit, and loss responsibilities for the branch operation. The successful candidate will be growth focused, self-motivated—able to work independently and collaboratively, and flexible to manage a variety of duties. Previous business to business sales experience is a must, preferably in the staffing industry.
Job Duties:
Prospect and generate new leads through various channels including cold calling, networking, and referrals.
Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline to meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
Manage current and future client relationships, understanding client needs and developing solutions.
Develop and execute new sales strategy.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to close deals.
Ensure all customer orders are filled and serviced appropriately.
Maintain and update client records.
Conduct Client safety reviews and job site accident reports.
Job Requirements:
Proven track record of success in B2B sales; preferably in the staffing industry
Strong prospecting and lead generation skills with the ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
Ability to understand client needs and translate them into effective solutions.
Strong negotiation and closing skills.
At least 2 years’ experience in management/supervisory responsibility in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.
Exceptional customer service abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work as a team in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
Honest and ethical team player.
Ability to learn and work with new computer programs.
Willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and some holidays as required.
***Retail Sales and Call Center experience will not be considered***.
Work Environment:
Frequently required to visit construction sites, manufacturing, warehouse and industrial buildings.
May require walking construction sites and warehouses.
This position is full-time on-site and will require travel to client sites for service and sales calls daily. The position is base salary commission. Base salary will be between 35k-40K depending on experience.
