A Slice House cashier is responsible for accurately processing customer payments at a point-of-sale system, including handling cash, credit cards, and debit cards, while providing excellent customer service by greeting patrons, answering questions, and resolving any issues that may arise, all while maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.
Key responsibilities of a restaurant cashier :
- Customer interaction : Greet customers warmly, take orders, answer questions about the menu, and provide a positive dining experience.
- Transaction processing : Operate a point-of-sale system to accurately ring up orders, process payments (cash, credit, debit), and issue receipts.
- Cash handling : Accurately count cash, make change, and balance cash drawer at the end of each shift.
- Complaint resolution : Address customer concerns and attempt to resolve any issues promptly.
- Maintaining cleanliness : Keep the checkout area clean and organized, including wiping down surfaces and restocking supplies.
- Basic inventory management : May assist with restocking items as needed.
