What You Will Be Doing
- Provide professional expertise and support in the design, development and implementation of the talent review process that is required to achieve business goals and results in the creation of an internal bench of top talent.
- Collect, analyze and maintain data gathered to inform targeted development (e.g., succession planning).
- Develop, initiate and maintain effective programs for retention, promotion and succession planning.
- Manage the maintenance and execution of the performance management system, including standards of performance and goal creation and management.
- Ensure that organization-wide talent management initiatives are focused and aligned on improving operational and program efficiencies and effectiveness.
- Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, performance improvement actions).
- Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Partner with the Director of Talent Acquisition to manage the full recruitment life cycle (post, source, screen, and schedule) for key insurance positions.
- Serve as a business partner with hiring managers to develop effective and creative sourcing and recruitment strategies for key insurance positions that produce optimal results and build a pipeline of qualified candidates.
- Develop effective relationships within the organization and the hiring community to influence and impact the recruiting process and hiring.
- Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the People Operations team to develop innovative solutions, programs and policies.
- Collaborate with the Training & QA department to identify company-wide training needs and participate in the ongoing evaluation and monitoring of programs.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Education, Experience and Licensing Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration/management, human resources, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of High School diploma and pertinent work experience is required.
- At least 7 years’ experience designing, developing, and/or executing talent management functions and programs that cover performance management, talent development, coaching, and relationship management.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the P&C insurance industry, particularly hands on experience with Claims and Underwriting.
- Recent experience with sourcing, recruiting, interviewing, and hiring necessary.
- Current SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or Training Professional (ATD) certification preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skills.
- In-depth knowledge of effective leadership skills in a results-driven environment, with proven methods to coach others.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Proficient at capturing metrics, producing and analyzing reports, and making strategic recommendations.
- Thorough understanding of recruiting methods and best practices, as well as applicable policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Ability to design and implement full-cycle performance management programs.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to plan and prioritize effectively.
- Proficient at learning and using multiple different People Operations technology platforms (ATS, HRIS, etc).
- Solid working proficiencies of business operations, procedures, and priorities with a strong ability to support change and impart value within an organization.
- Proficient in MSO/365 applications such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
