PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To oversee all aspects related to distribution and inventory management, supply chain and procurement data integrity, food and paper costing, field communication, and project management. Establish strategic partnerships across the supply chain network to ensure competitive product availability for current and future demands. Identify cross-functional opportunities and propose solutions to enhance brand performance, fostering a culture of innovation, inclusivity, and excellence.
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and mentor a team of professionals in supply chain, procurement, and culinary fields.
- Provide leadership and support during supply disruptions and critical escalations, including availability for after-hours response when necessary to ensure business continuity.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive distribution supply strategy for all products across the supply chain system, encompassing food, paper goods, supplies, and equipment.
- Manage and oversee all DSD, DOT and distributor relationships effectively.
- Manage and oversee inventory and SLA levels of 28 distribution centers
- Manage and oversee supply chain technology tools to ensure data integrity
- Drive cross-functional initiatives such as product development, prime cost optimization, and supply cost efficiency to enhance restaurant profitability.
- Establish a vendor scorecard and KPI tracking system to measure supplier performance and reliability
- Stay updated on industry trends, commodity supply-demand dynamics, risks, opportunities, and negotiation strategies
Slim Chickens systems principles and objectives: Has a thorough understanding of Slim Chickens' established operating systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies, safety) and recognizes the responsibility to stay updated on these systems and the role this position plays in supporting them.
Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives: This position description is designed to guide the activities of the Director of Supply Chain and Purchasing. It is not meant to restrict the individual's creativity or limit their thinking, nor does it encompass all the tasks that may be required in this role.
Physical Activities: Primarily performed in an office environment. Involves entering and retrieving information on a computer and visually verifying details, often in small print. May also require presenting information to small or large groups.
Travel: Occasionally requires travel to multiple restaurants or work sites, which may include overnight stays.

Technical Experience
- Proficient in suite of Microsoft Office Products
- Competent to learn new business software.
Industry Experience: 10 years’ experience in food & beverage leadership, CPG or food manufacturing environment, or restaurant supply chain & purchasing role.
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree - with Supply Chain Management, Accounting or Finance focus.
