PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Franchise Field Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the sales and traffic building charge in their markets. Our franchisees rely on their FMM to educate their teams and inspire a culture of local sales building. This is driven by the idea that we can use our food as currency to create emotional connections with guests at scale in every trade area. The FMM helps guide the overall strategy and determines the optimum mix of media, community marketing, local event marketing and sponsorships/endorsements to drive meaningful traffic and create brand swagger in their markets. Most importantly, they help measure the result to help refine the approach to drive a better and better return. We operate using the principle of radical simplification. Our marketing plans should be easy to explain, simple to execute and straightforward to measure. We dont need dozens of campaigns, just a few tried and true tactics on the media and community marketing front to drive growth in every market.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Promotion Activation: Local Store Marketing

  • Helps every franchisee understand what makes each trade area tick
  • Develops a plan that includes community marketing, local events/sponsorships and media
  • Measures the plan and collaborates with the franchisee to determine how we can use the performance data to improve the plan
  • Works with agency and creative partners as needed to drive media and content

Promotion Activation: New Restaurant Opening

  • Work with franchisees to develop a simple but effective New Restaurant Opening Plan
  • Dive into each new trade area to modify opening plans to fit the demographics and competitive challenges of each new restaurant location
  • Help keep franchisees on schedule with their NRO Marketing by creating a customer calendar and constant communication of decision points
  • Work with agency partners to develop and refine New Restaurant Opening creative and media strategies
  • Guide and encourage franchisees through each step of the NRO process, from the cross-functional team kick-off, through pre-opening, and post opening promotions
  • Share wins and challenges with the other Field Marketing Managers to continue to build on a plan that creates excitement in the trade area while sustaining traffic
  • Lead the transition for our franchise partners from the opening plan to the brand marketing calendar with a focus on building guest affinity.

Franchisee Relations

  • Be the one stop resource for local and national promotions. If you dont know the answer, work with our agency partners and internal teams to be the one to find it for our franchise partners Responsible for timely communications to franchisees on brand and local promotions
  • Every franchisee and their operators have unique personalities. Be able to translate to all through communicating effective sales and traffic driving programs
  • We know you can present, but building relationships gives your recommendations even more weight

Promotion Activation: Sales Building Plans

  • Work with franchisees on local media objectives, strategies and plans. Take those conversations and develop Quarterly Media Planners filled with a few effective traffic and sales driving levers
  • Be ready to provide strong recommendations, based on data, for Social, Digital and traditional Media campaigns
  • Be ready to share your strategies on owning the trade area through local partnerships, endorsements and LRM programs
  • What were the results? You have all the resources at your fingertips from DOMO, OLO, Punchh, Brink and our exceptional finance team to help you pull everything together
  • Data driven decisions are key, if you can analyze the data to help build future campaigns, that is something we would like to see

Product Management: Menu & Pricing Management

  • Franchisees depend on you for menu pricing recommendations. You will work with outside pricing analysts, our finance team and use your own trade area competitive pricing sleuthing to be a trusted resource to our franchisees
  • Get used to holding hands, you will be walking your franchisees through the entire menu pricing process from the first spreadsheet recommendation through the day new menu board screens are active.
  • Did we mention that you should be the competitor pricing expert for your markets?
  • You cant do it all by yourself, youll be working with the Field Marketing Coordinator and Brand team to develop and communicate menu and pricing changes

Performance Feedback

  • How did the big campaign perform? We need you to be able to work with our internal reporting systems and franchisees to evaluate and reports campaign performance
  • Along with reporting results, we will need your recommendations on how to make LRM, Digital, Social, Traditional Media and App programs work even better at driving traffic
  • Bring your knowledge of successful campaigns and dont be afraid to rock the boat if you have a better way to drive performance

Slim Chickens systems principles and objectives: Has a thorough understanding of Slim Chickens' established operating systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies, safety) and recognizes the responsibility to stay updated on these systems and the role this position plays in supporting them.

Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives: This position description is designed to guide the activities of the Field Marketing Manager. It is not meant to restrict the individual's creativity or limit their thinking, nor does it encompass all the tasks that may be required in this role.

Physical Activities: Primarily performed in an office environment. Involves entering and retrieving information on a computer and visually verifying details, often in small print. May also require presenting information to small or large groups.

Requirements:

  • Most successful Field Marketing Mangers have a college degree with an emphasis in Marketing, Communication or Advertising. But, if you have the goods to be on our team, lets talk about your experience

  • If you have experience influencing franchisees, that is good - restaurant industry franchisees, even better

  • Do you like hotel and airline points, well this is the place for you, we can promise that you will be earning them at least every other week

  • You will fit right in with the team if you can make the computer hum with your custom spreadsheets, slides and documents

This position will oversee our Central Marketing regions, including Arkansas, Oklahoma, Memphis, Kansas, and Nebraska. Since this role also supports Corporate restaurants, it is based in Fayetteville.
