Summary:
The Senior Accountant will work directly with the Controller and have primary responsibility for a variety of accounting, finance, and internal control duties. The senior accountant will be responsible for monthly account reconciliations, preparing and reporting financial data, and various other tasks to ensure the integrity of the accounting information. The senior accountant will also assist in variance analysis and lead other important projects as needed to support the business. Strong written and verbal communication skills and effective interpersonal skills are critical.
Responsibilities:
• Perform general ledger (GL) accounting including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, reporting, and other areas as assigned.
• Responsible for bi-weekly payments to vendors in working with the Accounting Specialist.
• Post payroll entries bi-weekly.
• Check the bank daily for deposits that have come in and getting those to the Accounting Specialist to post.
• Reconcile inventory, fixed assets, and other accounts on a monthly basis.
• Perform periodic analysis of inventory, cost of goods sold, and gross margin and reports findings to management.
• Manage the fixed assets and depreciation including budget vs. actual analysis on capital spend. Prepare for the physical inventory of fixed assets in 2025.
• Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages.
• Perform Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) testing.
• Participate in internal and external audits as required.
• Work with the finance and other site personnel to identify and resolve issues and assist where needed.
• Assist with cost savings programs including continuous improvement and automation of the accounting and reporting process.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree Accounting/Finance
• 5 years of prior progressive accounting work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Ability to research, compile, analyze, and interpret data
• Strong computer skills, including intermediate proficiency of Microsoft Excel and Office products
• Knowledge of QuickBooks Enterprise preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail with consistent accuracy
• Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
• Prior experience with internal control over financial reporting in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
Salary : $95,000 - $110,000
