Position Summary

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the financial processing of transactions for an organization. Their duties include daily bookkeeping and record keeping, financial reporting and the preparation of tax records for financial audits.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing accounts payable using Acumatica (ERP) and other programs.
  • Handling accounts payable for multiple entities.
  • Provide administrative support for the finance department.
  • Data cleanup for items already in systems.
  • Accurately entering large volume of invoices into Acumatica, among other accounting and finance support functions.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive materials.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable, including reconciliations and accruals.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors.
  • Ensuring bills are paid promptly and accurately while adhering to departmental procedures.
  • Processing invoices due for payments.
  • Performing accounting duties such as account maintenance and reconciling vendor statements
  • Requesting W-9 forms from vendors.
  • Verifying vendor details, such as banking information and address.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in accounts payable.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with three-way match when processing invoices associated with purchase orders.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
  • Familiarity with ERPs and systems, such as Acumatica.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices related to accounts payable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
