SLR International Corporation is seeking a Chief Inspector/Senior Inspector to join its talented team based in Cheshire, Connecticut. The candidate will be responsible for managing small to medium size projects and supporting larger more complex projects. The candidate may participate in managing and or directly administering construction projects as a Chief Inspector with a familiarity with process, water and wastewater systems, with a focus on mechanical, electrical and control/instrumentation systems. In addition, familiarity with the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CT DOT) inspection process is a plus. Projects may be private, municipal, state, and state or federally funded through CT DOT or other agencies. The candidate may be requested to assist in interviewing for potential projects at municipal and state levels. SLR provides a wide range of construction-related services, private and public, including construction management, project administration, and construction observation/inspection.

Job Description
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or related engineering disciplines
- Minimum of 5 years of experience inspecting and administering water, wastewater, process or industrial construction projects
- Minimum of 5 years of experience inspecting and administrating CT DOT construction projects, and/or a combination of municipal and CT DOT experience will also be considered a plus
- Familiarity with standard inspection processes, documentation and management typical of DOT or public agency funded projects
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Certification will be considered a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- NETTCP Concrete and HMA Certifications Preferred
- NETTCP Quality Assurance Technologist certification a plus
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and or projects with varying types of construction projects throughout Connecticut and nearby states
- Familiarity with SharePoint & Compass is also desirable
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to organize and manage work
- Manage and provide direction to team members
- Excellent written and communication skills

The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $85,000.00 to $105,000.00. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
- Provide Chief Inspector/Senior Inspector services primarily for water, wastewater and industrial projects including process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control disciplines.
- Secondary services include familiarity with Chief Inspector/Senior Inspector duties for CT DOT Construction Inspection Projects and/or other state DOT work
- Review Contract Documents
- Coordinate with Clients and Contractors
- Prepare records for oversight of construction projects including daily inspection reports, testing protocols. Familiarity with CT DOT five volume system for record keeping is preferred.
- Prepare for, coordinate, and run meetings
- Develop and maintain project records throughout construction
- Prepare Estimates and Change Orders
- Monitor, manage and execute necessary material testing
- Prepare project correspondence
- Review subordinate inspection staff work including daily reports, computations, testing results, correspondence
- Coordinate with utility companies and various agencies of the industry as necessary
- Oversee equipment and systems startup and commissioning, and verification of control functions. Inspection and oversight functions include site/civil work, process piping, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, instrumentation and controls, and building structural, architectural and finish work.
- Prepare for and present at interviews for future work
