SLR CONSULTING Senior Air Quality Engineer / Scientist in ANCHORAGE, Alaska
SLR International Corporation seeks an experienced Air Quality Engineer or Scientist to join our growing regulatory permitting and compliance team in Anchorage, Alaska. Candidates who live in or are willing to relocate to Anchorage. Remote work arrangements may also be considered for the right candidate. This position is full-time, requires 10 years of relevant experience, and has an array of responsibilities requiring flexibility and versatile skills. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level professional to contribute technically to challenging air quality projects for oil & gas, mining, chemical, energy, and industrial clients in Alaska and throughout the US. Key Responsibilities
- Comply with SLR and client health, safety, and environmental requirements including drug and alcohol policies;
- Manage strategic air permits and compliance assurance programs for a variety of industrial clients with complex technical / regulatory issues. Work closely with clients and develop strong relationships to understand specific processes and develop permitting and compliance strategies to help clients maintain maximum operating flexibility;
- Manage projects and teams to achieve client's expectations for scope, budget, schedule, and quality;
- Serve as a technical resource for air quality compliance assurance and permitting programs, including regulatory analyses of industrial facility operations; major and minor source air permit applications under NSR, PSD, Title V, and state-level regulations; and NSPS / NESHAP MACT compliance programs.
- Review State, Federal, and Local regulations for applicability determinations and compliance tasking;
- Lead teams in preparing calculations using spreadsheets, databases, third party software, and process simulation software to quantify air emissions from industrial processes for use in air permitting, emissions inventories and reporting, and annual compliance reporting;
- Prepare and use data management systems and tools to track compliance with permit requirements and air regulations and prepare compliance reports;
- Lead consultations and negotiations with State and Federal regulatory agencies with clients and on behalf of clients;
- Identify client opportunities, scope project efforts, prepare and support technical proposal development, and actively contribute to business development.
Technical and Interpersonal Skills and Experience
The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $100,000.00 to $120,000.00. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
