The Project Accountant works directly with the project teams to oversee the financial functions necessary for the profitable completion of the assigned project(s). The Construction Project Accountant has responsibility for AP, AR, and project compliances. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, an effective communicator, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. The Project Accountant position will report directly to the SLSCO Controller or their designee.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Helps to ensure timeliness and accuracy of the project reports.
- Assist in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.
- Review and audit vendor invoices for accuracy and required backup per contract.
- Properly review, analyze, and set up billing rates and terms per contracts.
- Assists in preparing client invoices.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Follow system controls to ensure data integrity.
- Review project financial data monthly to ensure completeness of the data.
- Assists in gathering data for reporting during the month-end close process.
- Assists in ERP conversion / implementation testing and participation in training sessions.
- Support management in completing special projects, ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests, and other tasks as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
