Essential Job Functions:
Performs general cost accounting and other
related duties.
Prepares monthly balance sheets, income
statements, and profit and loss statements.
Maintains the general ledger.
Prepare and process Journal Entries.
Complete bank transfers between corporate
bank accounts.
Prepare, post and maintain fixed assets and
depreciation entries.
Codes invoices, sets up accounts, reconciles
accounts, and closes the monthly books.
Reconciles bank accounts, verifies deposits,
and addresses inquiries from banks.
Reconciles cash disbursement accounts,
payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages
accounts receivable collections.
Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices
associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the
appropriate accounts.
Provides outside auditors with assistance;
gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual
audit.
Files tax forms with federal, state, and
local government agencies.
Manages the purchasing and invoicing system.
Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting
practices and procedures.
Recommends ways to reduce costs and enhance
revenue.
Applies new accounting policies and ensures
compliance with rules and regulations.
Support accounting team in other accounting
duties and functions.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements: To perform this job
successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the

Minimum Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree
in finance, accounting, or business with (2) years of progressively
responsible experience or an equivalent combination of education and training
which would afford the applicant with the required knowledge, skills, and
abilities. 1-3 years of non-profit or healthcare finance experience
preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities:
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and
entering financial information.
Strong knowledge and experience in Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong understanding of general accounting with an emphasis in
journal entry process, account reconciliation, and monthly close.
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and
the federal and state laws, ordinances, Financial Accounting Standards
Board (FASB), and regulations relating Governmental Accounting Standards
Board (GASB) for non-profit accounting and financial affairs.
Knowledge of financial analysis and reporting, and budget analysis
and preparation.
Knowledge of grants accounting, applicable grant funding rules,
regulations, and reporting requirements.
Ability to compile, verify, and analyze complex financial records
and reports.
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with
internal and external customers.
Ability to plan, initiate and complete work assignments with a
minimum of direction.
Skilled in communication - both oral and written.
Possess good problem solving, analytical and reasoning skills.
Necessary Special Requirements: Possession of a valid Florida driver's license, acceptable driving
record, and proof of personal automobile insurance if required to drive an
SMA vehicle and/or use a personal vehicle for SMA business. Complete State of
Florida mandatory background screening prior to start of employment. Complete SMA required training during the
first six (6) months of employment and updated if required.
Physical: Mobility and ability to bend and
reach during an 8-12-hour day. Able to lift minimum 10 pounds. Visual and
auditory acuity sufficient to evaluate, intervene, treat, and record client
health care needs. Fine motor skills for legible and accurate charting, daily
correspondence and presentation, either manually or orally. Work endurance
ability to work 8-12-hour shifts with a meal break, as possible. Routine
8-12-hour shifts. Hours and days off may vary. Extra hours may be
required. Work assignment locations may vary.
