Job Description: The accepted candidate will often be the first voice and face of a patient encounter. We are seeking someone who is professionally friendly, efficient, calm when multitasking, and possesses a keen attention to detail. As a small operation many of our staff have the opportunity to cross train.
Job Responsibilities
- Schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 8:45 - 5:00
- Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone, and answers or refers patient portal (email) inquiries.
- Schedules appointments and optimizes flow of patients through the office, managing check-in, collection of payments, facilitating moving the patient into the exam room, recording patient needs, and scheduling follow-up appointments according to office best practices
- Maintains patient and family accounts by collecting, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
- Collects patient payments/processes credit card payments and collects “credit card on file” records. Records payments and credit information correctly in the medical record system.
- Checks and updates insurance information for all patient accounts at check-in and/or scheduling to assure accurate filing, collecting, and expediting third-party claims.
- Assists in obtaining prior medical records and/or records from other providers and correctly assigns the obtained records to patient charts for physician review.
- Assists in rooming patients. May obtain height, weight, temperature. Distributes patient screening and assessment tools for completion by patient/parent to facilitate the work of the MA and physicians.
- Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
- Maintain efficient operations by following policies and procedures, reports on needed changes, and participates in improving and refining office practices.
- Manage communications by text message, phone, email and medical record system portal communications. Transcribe phone messages and delegate/distribute to staff or physicians to meet family needs/requests.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic computer skills
- Previous reception/medical office experience preferred

We are a health care practice serving children. Immunization against preventable infectious diseases, including annual flu shots and appropriate coronavirus is important and expected for the candidate’s protection as well as protection of our patients and families.

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
