SMART Academy is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Grant Writer to join our dynamic team of educators and professionals. The Grant Writer will be responsible for securing funding through government grants, private foundations, and corporate partnerships to support our mission and further our impact in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and identify potential funding opportunities, including government grants, private foundations, and corporate partnerships
- Write compelling grant proposals and applications that effectively communicate SMART Academy's mission, goals, and programs to potential funders
- Collaborate with the development team to develop grant budgets, ensuring all proposed expenses are accurately reflected and aligned with funding guidelines and restrictions
- Maintain a thorough understanding of SMART Academy's programs, outcomes, and impact to effectively represent the organization in grant proposals
- Develop and maintain relationships with current and potential funders to cultivate long-term partnerships and secure recurring funding
- Track and report on all grant activity, including submission deadlines, proposal outcomes, and grant reporting requirements
- Stay informed on trends and changes in the grant-writing landscape, including potential funding sources and best practices for grant writing
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Nonprofit Management, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in grant writing, preferably in the non-profit sector
- Proven track record of successful grant writing and securing funding from government agencies, private foundations, and/or corporations
- Strong research and analytical skills to identify potential funding sources and understand their funding priorities and guidelines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft persuasive and compelling proposals
- Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and grant tracking software
