We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fertilizer Technician to join our team. As a Fertilizer Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to maintenance, repair, and installation. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical skills and the ability to work independently.
```Responsibilities```
- Complete assigned Fertilization and Pesticide applications and accurately fill out all necessary information on mobile device while on site
- Ability to work independently to complete all assigned work in an efficient manner
- Knowledge of used insecticides, fertilizers, fungicides, and the ability to safely apply them at the properly calibrated rate in compliance with ODA standards, rules, and regulations
- Performs daily routine maintenance & safety inspections on vehicle and equipment, as well as keeping everything clean in order to maintain a professional appearance
-Interacts with customers to address and document any questions or concerns, as well as communicating those concerns to Fertilization Manager
- Prepares truck, equipment, and product for the following day's work
- Other tasks as necessary and/or needed in Fertilization department or any other departments due to lack of, or a need for, additional manpower
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions such as rain, snow, or extreme heat and cold
- Involvement in Snow Removal during winter months is expected and required. To include: plowing, sidewalk snow removal using shovels and/or snow blowers, applying salt and other deicing materials to paved surfaces, as well as assisting with pre-storm preparedness and post-storm cleanup
```Requirements/Qualifications```
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and dependable
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Comfortable operating stand-on and walk behind equipment
- Must be able to consistently lift 50 lbs. and adhere to all safety policies and procedures
- Occasionally working on weekends if needed due to weather
- ODA License preferred; applicants without an ODA license will actively work to obtain license during first year of employment
