Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the front desk operations, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring smooth communication between patients and dental staff. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and excellent administrative skills to support the overall efficiency of the practice.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival and assist with check-in procedures.
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar effectively.
- Handle incoming calls with professionalism, addressing inquiries and providing information about services.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including health information management and insurance details.
- Process patient payments and manage billing inquiries.
- Coordinate with dental staff to ensure seamless patient flow and communication.
- Utilize dental software systems such as Athenahealth for patient management.
- Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and welcoming for patients.
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including filing, data entry, and inventory management.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar administrative role is preferred.
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in office management tasks.
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Proficiency in medical administrative support functions, including scheduling and record keeping.
- Ability to type efficiently and accurately while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with health information management practices is a plus.
