Job Summary
SMART Productions, a creative, collaborative video production and post-production company in Forest Park, Illinois, is looking for an experienced video editor to create video projects for corporate, education, and nonprofit organizations.
The Video Editor will be responsible for all phases of the post-production process, including Post-Production Planning and Client Kickoff Calls; Media Ingestion, Media Organization and Media Management; Project Set-Up; Content, Rough, and Fine Cutting; Motion Graphics; Audio Balancing; Color Correction; Final Mastering, Exporting, and Archiving.
This full-time, salaried position reports daily to our Forest Park office. The successful candidate must have advanced editing proficiency using Adobe Premiere, solid After Effects skills, and a strong working knowledge of other Creative Cloud programs used in the editing process, like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Media Encoder. In addition, this role will involve direct contact with clients and freelancers, so strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, and the desire to work and thrive in a creative, collaborative environment are imperative.
Responsibilities
1. Edit long-form and short form videos for multiple uses (social media, websites, events, online platforms) from concept to completion
2. Collaborate with producers, editors, freelancers, and clients to understand project requirements, vision, timelines, and deliverables
3. Utilize Creative Cloud Software (Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Media Encoder) and other workflow management tools (Vimeo, Frame, Rev, Promax Platform, Microsoft Office, Google Suite)
Qualifications
1. MINIMUM 5 YEARS of professional experience working in a deadline-driven, video production/post-production work environment, like a production company, in-house corporate video group, marketing/ad agency, etc. (This is not an entry-level position. No current students or recent graduates, please!)
2. Advanced Proficiency in Post-Production Workflows, Mac Environments, and Adobe Premiere
3. Solid Understanding of Creative Cloud Applications most applicable to video editing: After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, Media Encoder
4. Familiarity with platforms and apps commonly used in post-production workflows: Vimeo, Frame, Promax Platform or comparable shared media/storage networks, Rev, Microsoft Office, Google Suite
5. Demonstrated experience working on a broad range of video projects
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
7. Ability to work well in a team environment
8. Bachelor's degree in Video Production, Broadcasting, Film, or a related experience
