Parts Manager

Job Overview

Our company, Smart's Truck & Trailer Equip., Inc, is a family-owned and operated Volvo, Hino, and Isuzu dealership with two locations. We are the leader in parts sales within our area of responsibility, offering both OEM and all-makes parts.

• Develop and implement strategies to achieve growth and profit objectives for the branch parts department.
• Collaborate with the Parts Director to formulate plans, procedures, and programs that align with company policies and goals.
• Assess current and future needs, trends, and opportunities to drive sales and revenue growth.
• Develop merchandising strategies to meet objectives and ensure profitability.
• Establish annual and monthly sales/profit objectives and expense budgets that align with company goals.
• Evaluate department performance and take corrective actions as necessary.
• Maintain effective communication within and between departments within the branch.
• Conduct regular sales meetings and participate in management discussions.
• Train and develop parts department personnel.
• Perform other duties and tasks assigned by management.

Responsibilities

• Formulate major objectives, specific plans, and procedures for the Parts Department.
• Assess present and future needs, trends, problems, and profit opportunities.
• Develop and implement merchandising strategies to ensure objectives are met.
• Review and appraise department results and performance against objectives.
• Maintain effective communication within and between departments within the branch.
• Conduct regular sales meetings and participate in management discussions.
• Train and grow parts department personnel.
• Perform other duties and tasks assigned by management.

Requirements

• Prior leadership and management experience of 1-3 years preferred.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills required.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic essential.
• Commitment to extra hours as needed.
• Thorough knowledge of all phases of the parts department preferred.
