Job Description

As a Surveyor II, you will coordinate each site survey request and have a comprehensive understanding of IoT, Access Control, and Parking surveys. You will monitor each project opportunity from request to completion, develop budget proposals, and maintain work schedules for Surveyors (Level I) . This role requires excellent communication skills to effectively convey information to internal and external teams.

Responsibilities

Budgetary Proposal Development:

  • Utilize preliminary client questionnaires to build budgetary proposals, providing a general idea of overhead costs, including labor, hardware, professional services, and permitting costs.
    • Requires expert knowledge of SmartRent products, construction, blueprints, and smart systems.
    • Involves cross-communication between sales, clients, and implementation teams.

IoT New Development Review:

  • Accurately identify new development site survey objects and request necessary technical/preliminary information.
    • Use gathered information to progress new development opportunities to the next review stages and notify appropriate teams for action.
    • Review technical documents to understand each request's needs and communicate findings to relevant teams.

Facilitation of Site Survey Opportunities:

  • Monitor coordination dashboards to ensure open opportunities across all survey stages are handled efficiently and within the process.
    • Identify and address opportunities requiring immediate attention, ensuring proper progression.
    • Coordinate with teams to gather additional information to progress opportunities, following up to avoid delays.

Development and Maintenance of Site Surveyors' Schedules:

  • Delineate survey requests to identify resource needs and plan weekly schedules for surveyors (level I).
    • Ensure efficient and cost-effective resource scheduling, adapting to client or resource changes as needed.
    • Communicate schedule changes or new expectations to all relevant parties.

Ensure Preliminary Information for Site Survey Objects:

  • Identify opportunities requiring preliminary documentation or specific information to advance survey stages.
    • Coordinate with teams and clients to gather necessary information.

Review of Technical Documents Before Submission:

  • Interpret building blueprints and schedules, effectively communicating findings to teams and clients.
    • Apply specific thresholds to progress requests or communicate insufficient information.

Maintenance of Coordination Dashboards:

  • Understand team processes and survey status expectations, ensuring appropriate opportunity progression.
    • Monitor and act on coordination dashboards, maintaining a routine of thorough inspections.

Use of SalesForce Tools for Survey Stage Compliance:

  • Utilize SalesForce tools to track opportunity progress efficiently within set time parameters.
    • Populate necessary information in SalesForce for team comprehension and tracking.

Monitor Communication Between Coordination Team and Other Parties:

  • Respond promptly to communications (email, Slack, or phone) to document and communicate client needs to all involved teams.
  • Engage with internal teams to elaborate on specific needs and collaborate on completing site survey requests.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED and 3-5 years of related experience, including technical engineering/surveying training OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of surveying principles and methods and the use of required field surveying equipment.
  • Ability to accurately read blueprints.
  • Must be able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
  • Client-facing proposal skills.
  • Strong phone and listening skills.
  • Excellent follow-up and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Salesforce.
  • Ability to create and maintain Google Sheets.
  • Ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment and deliver outstanding customer experiences.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment.
  • Must have reliable computer and internet access.
