Regional Trainer (West) Job Summary
As a Regional Trainer at SmartStop, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training programs to our Store/Field employees within a designated geographic area. In this role, you will coach, develop and support our Store Managers and Assistant Store Managers to ensure they have the necessary knowledge, skills and tools they need to drive sales and provide exceptional customer service. The Regional Trainer will also ensure consistent training practices across multiple locations and work closely with leadership to align training with business goals. This role requires up to 75% travel with their designated region.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate in-person (on-site) and virtual training sessions for store teams throughout the region, focusing on product knowledge, customer service, sales techniques, and operational procedures.
- Customize training content and materials based on regional and store-specific needs, ensuring that all team members are aligned with corporate objectives.
- Coach and mentor employees at various levels to improve performance, motivation, and engagement. Identify and develop District Trainers.
- Deliver training to new employees, ensuring they understand the companys culture, policies, procedures, and key performance metrics from day one.
- As subject matter experts (SMEs), collaborate with the content creator to develop and update training materials, including presentations, e-learning modules, job aids, and training manuals.
- Ensure that all training materials are tailored to meet the learning objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) for store operations, including sales targets, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
- Train store teams on new products, services, or promotional strategies, ensuring they are well-equipped to deliver the best customer experience.
- Identify high-performing stores and share best practices with other locations to improve performance across the region.
- Work closely with regional managers, district managers, and corporate leadership to align training strategies with business goals and store needs.
- Organize and lead regular calls with District Trainers to share updates on new training programs, initiatives, and resources.
- Foster a positive, energetic learning environment that motivates.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Needed
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, or a related field, or equivalent, relevant work experience.
- Minimum 3 years training experience in the Self-Storage industry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
- Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
- Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software.
- Strong coaching and mentoring abilities.
- Willingness to travel up to 75% within the designated region.
