Accounting Clerk
SmartTalent is seeking a Accounting Clerk to join our client’s team in downtown Tacoma, WA. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for multiple companies across various states. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Job Highlights :
Schedule : Monday – Friday | 8am to 4 : 30pm
Pay : $26 to $29 hourly, DOE

Key Responsibilities :
- Process weekly payrolls for multiple locations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with payroll regulations.
- Review and audit employee time records, resolving discrepancies in collaboration with supervisors.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, benefits deductions, garnishments, and other payroll-related withholdings.
- Investigate and address employee payroll concerns, including paycheck amounts, deductions, direct deposits, and leave accruals.
- Research and establish payroll tax accounts for new business locations.
- Assist with payroll account reconciliation and discrepancy resolution.
- Prepare journal entries for payroll-related transactions in the general ledger.
- Generate payroll reports and support audits as needed.
- Manage verification of employment requests and maintain payroll process documentation.
- Submit payment requests to Accounts Payable for payroll-related disbursements.
