We are looking for a dedicated and results-driven Collections Manager to lead our collections team and manage delinquent accounts effectively.

Position Summary:

The Collections Manager will oversee all aspects of the collections process for delinquent accounts, working to reduce outstanding debts while maintaining a high level of customer service. This role requires a strategic and driven individual with strong experience in collections and account management. You will be responsible for leading a team of collections specialists, developing and implementing collections strategies, and ensuring that delinquent accounts are managed in a timely and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage Delinquent Accounts: Oversee the collection of overdue accounts and ensure that customers are contacted promptly. Develop and implement strategies to reduce delinquency rates and increase account recovery.
• Lead and Supervise Team: Manage and guide a team of collections specialists, setting clear performance expectations, providing regular feedback, and ensuring targets are met.
• Account Management: Responsible for directly contacting customers to manage overdue accounts and resolve outstanding balances. This includes, but is not limited to, making collection calls, negotiating payment plans, sending reminders, and addressing any customer inquiries related to their accounts. The role may also involve additional tasks as needed to support the overall success of the collections department and the business operations.
• Reporting and Analysis: Maintain accurate records of collections activities and generate reports on collections metrics, trends, and performance to present to senior management.
• Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure all collections activities comply with legal requirements, company policies, and industry best practices.
• Customer Relations: Maintain a balance between collecting overdue payments and providing a positive customer experience. Handle escalated calls or issues that require higher-level intervention.
• Training and Development: Train new collections staff, continuously improving team skills and performance through ongoing coaching and development.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in collections or account management.. Experience in rental purchase or finance company is a plus.
• Skills: Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively. Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge: A deep understanding of collections processes, delinquency management, and payment recovery strategies.
• Self-Driven: A highly motivated and results-oriented individual, capable of managing a high volume of delinquent accounts and meeting performance goals.
• Customer Service Focused: Ability to handle customer concerns with empathy, professionalism, and tact while pursuing collections goals.
• Tech-Savvy: Comfortable working with collections software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with automated collections systems is a plus.
• Compliance Awareness: Knowledge of collections laws and regulations, including Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and a commitment to ethical collections practices.
