What are the responsibilities and job description for the Digital Marketing Specialist position at SMB Digital?
Responsible for any or all of the following duties: designing websites, designing ads in print and online, creating and scheduling social media marketing content and ads, and communicating with customers as needed via email, phone and in reporting meetings. Flexible work environment.
Basic Tasks:
Website Design and Development
- Contact customers to gather information for new websites
- Research businesses and write content
- Design website, share with customer, follow up for feedback and edit to meet customer’s approval
- Obtain domain information if necessary from advertiser
- Publish website live to the Internet incorporating basic optimization including keyword research, title tags, descriptions and headers
- Submit websites site map to search engines and add Google Analytics to site
- Maintain website timeline to ensure websites are being launched as quickly as possible
- Proof and edit websites designed by the digital team as assigned
Social Media Marketing
- Create custom marketing and promotional strategies, calendars, graphics and content and schedule same across all social media platforms
- Work with customers closely to understand their goals, brand and brand message
- Create ads and campaigns across all social media platforms submitting all ads and content in a timely manner
- Work with customers to determine budget and manage expenses to that budget
Text Marketing
- Contact customer to gather information, logos and opt-in offer
- Set up account in mobile marketing platform
- Train customer on mobile marketing platform (if advertiser is interested)
- Follow up with customer and schedule offers for customer
- Create monthly calendars for customers
- Create Facebook cover photos and profile pictures
- Create tabletop tents and countertop signs and order printing and mailing to customer
- Design and create coupons on behalf of customer to upload to mobile marketing platform
- Brainstorm and research coupon ideas for customer
- Create training documents to teach customers how to navigate the mobile marketing platform
- Train others on platform
Ad Design
- Edit pay per call (PPC) ads for DMI customers
- Create PPC ads for DMI direct national customers
- Design print ads for customers
- Design digital ads for customers
- Edit designs for customers
- Present work to customers for approval
- Create custom ads for customers upon request
Online Display
- Create online display campaigns for customers
- Edit current online display campaigns
- Check bi-weekly to make sure campaigns are working correctly
General Tasks
- Promote products and services through public relations initiatives
- Develop marketing communications campaigns
- Create thought leadership materials
- Create and deliver press releases, media relations content, case studies, white papers, executive bios, corporate newsletter content, social media content, and speaking proposals
- Identify, develop and execute communications strategy for key media contacts and customer references
- Research media coverage and industry trends
- Manage information and meet deadlines
- Prepare agendas and conduct research
- Recommend, implement and maintain site design and operation
- Edit, Copy, proofread, and revise communications as necessary
- Design and launch digital marketing campaigns
- Assist with sales process by attending client meetings
- Assist with sales and product training
- Attend digital status meetings to provide status updates
- Employees may be required to perform other related duties as assigned
Skills
- Desktop computers
- Navigation - Using scroll bars, a mouse, and dialog boxes to work within the computer's operating system. Being able to access and switch between applications and files of interest.
- Proficient in MS Office – Using Outlook (email), Word, Power Point, & Excel
- Proficient in Google products, AdWords search console, Drive, Sheets, Documents
- Proficient in Imaging Software – PicMonkey, Photo Shop, Adobe Illustrator etc.
- Flexibility with assignments and priorities
- Operate office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners, facsimile machines, voice mail systems, and personal computers.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; Associates Degree or equivalent from a two year college or technical school preferred
