smbw is seeking a talented and driven Project Architect to contribute to the firm’s portfolio of small to mid-sized
projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in ground-up architecture and full renovation projects, with additional expertise in Interior Architecture projects considered a strong asset. The candidate would have experience in building strategy and have strong design development skills. The Project Architect will work closely with the project teams, actively contributing to all phases of a project. Responsibilities
- Work closely with project teams to develop design concepts and translate project objectives into compelling architectural solutions.
- Prepare design drawings, presentations, and technical documentation that align with project goals and comply with building codes and regulations.
- Research and recommend innovative design methodologies, materials, and technologies to enhance project quality and sustainability.
- Participate in design team meetings and contribute to fostering a creative and collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and experimentation.
- Assist in preparing and presenting design concepts to clients and stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment with project requirements.
- Actively pursue professional development opportunities, such as workshops, conferences, or certifications, to enhance design and technical skills.
- Support Project Managers in assigning project workflows, meeting deadlines, and delivering high-quality design solutions.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from a NAAB-accredited program.
- Experience: 5 years of professional architectural experience, including involvement in design and documentation phases.
- Technical knowledge: Familiarity with building and material systems and all regulatory standards.
- Software proficiency: Proficient in Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam Studio, and Miro, with the ability to quickly adapt to other relevant design tools and technologies.
- Proactive learner: Demonstrates initiative in pursuing educational and professional development opportunities independently.
- Licensure progress: Licensure or having taken active steps toward completing the ARE exams is preferred.
