Job Summary: Engage at the global level to supervise the strategic sourcing of manufacturing goods, materials, and services with approved suppliers at competitive quality and pricing. The role will demonstrate value through supporting stakeholders end to end through production while mitigating risk.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proactively assess and understand both internal and external customer requirements.
- Ensure selected supplier alignment with customer requirements.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize the supply chain operations and improve overall efficiency.
- Analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes to enhance performance.
- Collaborate with cross-function teams, leadership, functional managers, supervisors, and users representing ERP functionality, including engineering, quality, finance, manufacturing, scheduling, supply chain, customer service, warehousing, logistics and human resources.
- Develop and maintain strong relationship with suppliers and vendors to secure the best pricing, terms and conditions.
- Monitor Inventory levels and make recommendations for procurement and replenishment activities.
- Understand business needs and collaborate on an appropriate supply chain strategy.
- Support quality related supplier issues through the life of program and drive process to resolution.
- Manage escalation for significant issues that are not easily resolvable at the team level.
- Manage all supplier risks and potential economic issues while understanding customer requirements.
- Recommend and document supply chain improvement projects through material leveraging opportunities.
- Maintain full compliance with global Supplier Management policies, procedures, and standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Materials Management, Engineering or related field and a minimum of two years of experience in procurement / sourcing in a manufacturing environment, OR a two-year degree and six years relevant experience.
- Experience negotiating with business customers and suppliers
- Knowledge of the types of materials and equipment utilized in the manufacture of medical devices
- Extensive knowledge and experience with supplier chain policies and procedures and mapping business forms / requirements into ERP capabilities Able to collaborate globally with all levels of the organization
- Critical thinking and problem resolution skills
- Excellent presentation and written communication skills
Desirable Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in supply chain or related degree
- Previous experience in an ISO 13485 manufacturing environment
- Experience using IQMS and reporting tools
- Experience working with project management methodologies and tools
ADA Requirements:
- Typically sits, grasps items and perform keyboarding for frequent operation of a computer
- Stand, walk, bend, reach or otherwise move about regularly
- Lift, move, or otherwise transfer samples up to 10 pounds
- Occasional exposure to typical supplier and production facility physical hazards
- Travel by air or car occasionally
