Job Summary:   To support business execution of ongoing and new programs and initiatives that include VMI Levels, forecast, and coordination for new product launches, phase out, material constraints, last time buys/builds, and network redesigns. 


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor key performance indicators and coordinate with cross-functional work teams to increase the effectiveness of supply chain initiatives. 
  • Work closely with external suppliers, internal plants, demand planners, and management to ensure product availability.
  • Participate in long-term capacity and resource planning; product phase-in/phase-out, manufacturing ramp-up, end-of-life management and product-line management
  • Analyzes and aggregates supply / demand requirements, and purchase material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools
  • Creates/reduces supply requirements based on inventory adjustments while planning inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements
  • Assesses rough-cut capacity for current and short-term manufacturing requirements
  • Interfaces with Sourcing regarding inventory levels and requirement for new programs; minimizes excess remaining inventories on phased-out programs and prepare justification for recharging to customers
  • Analyzes lead times and identifies critical path procurements 
  • Assist in the development of strategies for materials planning and SIOP 
  • Responsible for the development of materials planning and SIOP to optimize the utilization of business resources and meet customer expectations for delivery.
  • Works with Leaders and Operations teams to develop demand forecasts; with manufacturing team to develop monthly production volume planning using the business forecast, inventory position, actual customer orders, and the defined capacity parameters.
  • Identifies and develops new techniques to improve materials planning and SIOP capability, sustainability, and reliability.
  • Creates and executes Supply Plan for every Program and maintain master data for purchased parts, sub-assemblies, end items and other parts as required.
  • Work in coordination with Customer Service to align the Demand Plan with manufacturing and supplier constraints.
  • Prioritize competing demands for finite work center capacity and material availability
  • Conduct extended value stream mapping to re-design optimized supply chains
  • Performs other duties as required.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business or Materials Management and a minimum of 5 years of planning experience; OR a two-year post high school diploma/certificate and 8 years of planning experience. 
  • Knowledge of Sales, Marketing, Collaborative Planning, Forecasting and Replenishment (CPFR), VMI, demand planning and the Sales Operations Planning processes.
  • Understand the end-to-end supply chain, capacities, lead times & bottlenecks to ensure an efficient plan
  • Solid experience working with one or more ERP software packages; advanced Excel and Tableau or Power BI skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Demonstrated effective written, interpersonal and oral communication skills.

 

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices
  • APICS or other Supply Management certification

 

ADA Requirements:

  • Typically sits, grasps items and performs keyboarding for frequent operation of a computer
  • Stand, walk, bend, reach or otherwise move about occasionally
  • Lift, move or otherwise transfer items up to 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards which may require respiratory protection
