Position Overview/Purpose:
The Sales Representative role at SMG Facilities is an entry-level position ideal for an energetic, motivated individual who enjoys the thrill of outbound outreach and laying the groundwork for strategic sales opportunities. The primary focus of this role is to support our senior sales executives by identifying, connecting with, and qualifying prospective clients.
Success in this role is measured by activity levels, pipeline generation, and the ability to create quality opportunities for the executive team. This position is perfect for someone looking to break into B2B sales, with room to grow into more senior sales roles over time.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct high-volume outbound outreach via phone, email, and LinkedIn to initiate contact with potential clients.
- Identify and research prospects that align with SMG’s ideal customer profile.
- Qualify leads and schedule introductory meetings for Sales Executives.
- Maintain and update CRM records with accurate information from prospect interactions.
- Follow up on inbound inquiries and marketing-generated leads.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to refine messaging and outreach strategy.
- Provide timely feedback on outreach results and market observations
- Support proposal development and coordination for active opportunities as needed.
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of experience in outbound sales, telemarketing, or a related customer-facing role preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a natural ability to connect with people.
- Highly organized with strong time management skills and attention to detail.
- Competitive, goal-oriented mindset with a desire to learn and grow.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms (HubSpot*, Salesforce, etc.) a plus.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with clear activity benchmarks.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
Other Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Experience using LinkedIn for outreach and lead generation a plus.
- Familiarity with Service Channel, Corrigo, or other facilities industry platforms is a bonus but not required.
- Ability to adapt messaging and approach based on prospect industry, size, and pain points.
- Comfortable navigating reporting tools and dashboards to track outreach performance and pipeline progress.
