What are the responsibilities and job description for the Officer Fire Command Center - On Call position at SMGHA Nevada, LLC?
Core Responsibilities:
Monitor the Fire Command Centers, Emergency Alarm Systems and Suppression Systems during events.
Respond to all inbound communication in the Fire Command Center, serving as a primary point of contact for all facilities and safety issues.
Notify the fire department, internal departments, governing agencies, and/or utilities of emergencies situations.
Maintain Fire Command Center records, and files.
Responsible for receiving and dispatching calls by telephone, two-way radio, and other computer-aided devices.
Uses a variety of quality customer service-oriented communication skills, and special techniques to interact formally and informally with community groups and customers of all backgrounds including guests with disabilities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Possess and maintain the following licensing and certification card:
Nevada Fire Alarm Protective Signaling Systems (F-Card)
Experience monitoring Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACPs) in a casino resort is required.
A minimum of one year’s experience in a high-volume dispatch center is preferred.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, which will include weekends, holidays, evenings.
Must be able to use a Fire Extinguisher.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Working knowledge of safety and security procedures and applicable State and Federal, regulations and ordinances.
Experience with Microsoft operating systems and Office applications
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms; Professional appearance and demeanor.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands and working environment described here are representative of those that a team member encounters and must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Primary work environment is in climate-controlled office, gaming facility areas and outdoors.
The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Must have the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to constantly move objects.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
Must have acceptable hearing levels to properly monitor radio transmissions.
Sufficient hearing to understand conversational levels in-person and over the telephone.
Speech must be sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, and over the telephone.
Visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned, or to make general observations of facilities, guests, and team members.
Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office, gaming facility and outdoor environment.
Physically able to withstand the challenges of extensive walking, climbing, and descending numerous interior and external stairs, including multi-level building facilities.
Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
